Best wishes Phil! He's right just like Purple said too - go get it checked, it's treatable.

There's a Da Vinci Robot at my Hospital that I actually got to open up right before a case ( surgery ). Can't say I think it's worth the millions it costs. In case you don't know what it is all it is is a remote set of robotic hands controlled by a Dr.s hands who is off to the side looking through the camera. The premise is that it is supposed to keep the feild more sterile. They actually let us play with it, got to pick up rubber bands, paper clips, etc. it was definately fun.

Thank God he's going to be OK. Not only is Phil Lesh a musical genius, he's a truly excellent human, a credit to the flock. We're really all very lucky to be able to identify with a guy like him. And, the continuously positive message he projects as part of his performances is really a benefit to society. I sort of feel like all the boys are uncles of mine, because they just have that kind of presence, even though the ony one I've ever talked to was Weir (twice!). The message is clear- take care of yourself. If you haven't your health, you've nothing.

Another setback for Phil, Good luck and Get well soon!!!

And guys, although it is not an exam any of us look forward to, please take Phil's advice and get an annual prostate exam if you are over 40 yo. FYI, even though Breast cancer gets more attention, prostate cancer is actually more common, and while it is one of the leading causes of death for older men (RIP Frank Zappa), it also is very treatable when caught early..

I also have a good joke about making sure you get a proper prostate exam, but some other time perhaps.
